One of the areas this is most prominent today is with annuities. Because annuities generally have a complimentary relationship to interest rates, sustained high interest rates drive annuity rates up. In 2023, the United States Federal Reserve rate hit its highest point in 22 years. This drove some of the highest rates in annuities, especially Multi Year Guarantee (MYGA) Single Premium Deferred Annuities (SPDA).
